the next time you go to a movie theater...

The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CPSI) says that two major chains are using artery clogging coconut oil to make their popcorn.

A medium popcorn at Regal Cinemas and AMC Theaters tips the scales at 1200 calories before you put on the butter. "Coconut oil is the worst thing that movie theaters can be using to pop in because it is so bad for our hearts. It's 90% saturated... lard is 40% saturated." - Jayne Hurley, CPSI Senior Nutritionist

Regal Cinemas tried offering air popped popcorn before, but customers didn't like it. Cinemark theaters, however, gets two thumbs up for using heart-healthy Canola Oil.

Maybe its a blessing that i can't afford the popcorn.. lol.. but seriously my son and I started getting stomach aches from the popcorn, we just couldn't eat it anymore.. maybe that was the coconut oil, or what they put in the buttery flavoring.. so we switched to the cheese and nachos a year ago...
