today is the day

Something miraculous happened today... on Ash Wednesday, no less. My wife summed it up better than I ever could in this journal entry:
"Today, 5 days before his 5th birthday, wearing a Batman hat, a Spiderman t-shirt, and Buzz Lightyear shoes, Joshua asked Jesus, his one true Super Hero, into his heart."

Oh man...that is awesome! There are not many moments in this life as good as that! I remember having a similar conversation with my daughter when she was the same age. We now celebrate her "birthday" every year!

Way to be a godly dad!

Cool as Mate!
Actually, I really don't have the words to express how utterly awesome this is!
The whole thing couldn't have been scripted any better. To have both you and his mom there for that. To have all the symbolism around you to explain things. WOW!
Then there is the simpleness of the childlike faith and the excitment of the new believer! Thats so awesome Tony, and great job of training up your children in the way they should go! That sword is certainly going to be something he will cherish his whole life and have as a constant reminder of this day.
Praise God and way to go bro!

Thank you for celebrating with us!The enthusiasm he has right now... man, I want some of that baby-skin faith again.

Maybe that's why children are a blessing from the Lord... blessed is the one whose quiver is full of them.

(Or something like that from the Bible)

What a great day, Tony! That was always a special time with our kids, too.

Here's something else from the Bible, too:

3 John 1:4 - "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth."

I'll be praying for my new "little brother!"

The greatest joy a parent can have is the day their children accept the Lord. Praise the Lord!

Praise God!!! I am rejoicing with you!!!

I'm much older than 5, but Jesus is still my Superhero.

"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

I am moved to tears.

One of the most beautiful things I have read in a long, long time. Thank you for the encouragment God gave to my heart today.

I pray that my son (who is 10 months old) will have the same journey at some point in his life.

Blessings.
