tom bowie

Please pardon the personal details...

but my mom's husband passed away yesterday.

Tom Bowie.

He had hip surgery a few weeks ago... and just couldn't come back to full health. I had the chance to talk and pray with him before all of that, and will always treasure that conversation.
Quite the character... never could get a good read on him at times, and then others he was as clear as could be.

It's weird how one life ripples into others... I'm in ministry right now partly/largely because he loaned me money to go to college at a time when I just didn't think it was possible for a schmo like me to get over such a big hurdle.

Hmm...

What ripples might your life have?

Not just later, but today?
I'd ask you to pray for my mom, Ann, and my sister and nephew (6 years old) who are deeply impacted by the loss. We'll gather in a couple of weeks for a memorial service, so please pray for me, too, as I'll have the chance to share during that opportunity.

Yep, it's amazing how one life can have a ripple effect on so many others, as we're still finding out about my dad!

Praying....

May the Lord be with you, your mom, sister and nephew. And may the ripples of Tom Bowie's life continue to grow in size and impact.

I am very sorry for your loss and have stopped to pray for everyone you mentioned.

The ripple effect - I need to think about that one.

Thanks, guys... your prayers and encouragement are beyond humbling.

Today we're helping my mom do a yard sale... a very, very big house with lots of stuff from varying generations makes for interesting sorting and sales.
