maybe we can celebrate?

I always feel weird talking about this kind of stuff, but a month ago I started freelancing for the Kalamazoo Gazette. Today they published my second story on their front page... so, um... I just wanted to tell you so you can celebrate with me. No pride intended. :)

Pics of Christian Davies and his mom PauletteHere's the link (although it looks better in the paper with the two pics I snapped).

So does this make me Clark Kent or Peter Parker?

I don't know... all I know is my wife is making me lasagna tonight. :)

Cool...it'd be neat to see the pics too! I think this makes you "Tony Myles" the newest superhero that coincidently writes for a newspaper like the superheros before him.

Thanks! I'm definitely having a good day today.

The lasagna would make you Garfield. :-)

I love Len's comment! That's hilarious! The article was really good. From the lead to the ending you did a great job following the tenant of great journalistic writing: "the inverted pyramid". And your AP style was impeccable. I'm sensing a Pulitzer prize in your future.

The most disturbing thing about the article is a nine year old playing with a Carebear. That kid's gonna get beat up.

Kudos!

Great job, Tony!! Front page is definitely cool. I'll be in Portage tomorrow, maybe I'll be able to catch a day old paper from someone.

It makes you Lois Olsen.

Congrats and great stuff!

Like the gentleman who daily gazed at the "Old Man of the Mountain" until the townspeople accused him of BEING the old man you are really showing your likeness to Superman ( or pehaps your likeness is that of Jesus Christ!).

Wow... thanks for that!

By the way - I wore my Don't Call Me Veronica t-shirt today (as evidenced in the pic of me holding the paper). I got to spread the love to at least three people today who asked what it meant.

Congratulations!

There's nuthin' like a byline! (Except maybe that great feeling that happens when you get kudos in the process of doing what God has gifted you to do--and He HAS gifted you to write!)

P.S. I'll be kinder than thurman8er--I'll call you Jimmy Lane!

Very cool, Tony!

Why does it blow me away that the kid's name is ironically... Christian? Wouldn't it be cool if all Christians were considered heros? Maybe someday. :)

Great job!!
