hey Tony...I have no clue if they will post my comment...but I left the following after their most recent entry:the point of preaching is not entertainment my friend...the preacher is not a comedian...lol…but such should be an expected complaint in the egocentric west these days. oh well…4 simple principles to better time management is certainly more appealing than an 87 part series through Romans for sure.
Good stuff, G. I agree with you... and yet I don't think people these days want the fill in the blank outlines for self-help stuff in as much as they want to be challenged. Maybe that was always the case, but everyone forgot that for awhile. I was always bothered when I heard a sermon and thought, "Tony Robinson could have said that without any change to content."On the other side, I kind of think their #178 is quite insightful.
no doubt...or how about this..."A Mormon elder could have taught this with almost no tweaking at all and not offend a single Mormon..."somehow I don't believe the Apostles where helping people understand how Biblical "principles" applied to potty training, lawn care, business management or retirement planning...call me a hayseed fundamentalist I guess, lol...
T- ok I've now wasted half an hour reading and laughing and reading some more. I'm not sure though if I should be proud or ashamed that so many of these seem so familiar.
