to market, to market

I was talking with a friend recently about me doing some more professional writing, and honestly I'm still praying about it - mainly because of the self-marketing you have to do. Maybe that's a bad term, but in many ways you have to prove to a publishing company that you have something to say (because, after all, they're in the business of making money).

Marketing yourself (or the church, for that matter) is one of those things that I'm told is essential for this... and yet I don't like to think about it. I get it... it's like a job interview where you have to present yourself before you can present your thoughts. Yet I start to feel a bit dirty when I share my good points without my bad points... or when I "market" myself by saying only half of something to get people to come back for whatever "my next words" will be.

You know how that works, right?

"I'll tell you more in my next post."

(And yes... I did that on purpose. See how that works?)

Yes, what Vicki said! You're already strategizing. I know what you mean. I've always wanted to be a publicist so I could market talent I believed in.

I hear you... I've always wanted to have someone who is a publicist know me so I wouldn't have to market myself.

that's the way to put it man, it is marketting, you are trying to sell yourself and the product you have to offer.

As it relates to feeling dirty... God is so concerned about the heart, even MORE than the situation you are in.

Struggling in Your Heart + God =

Well, His Faithfullness

I'm curious as to how you will end up going about this...
