I know I have some Canadian readers, so maybe you can explain this one...

The latest snack fad in Quebec, Canada?

Bags of communion wafers.

"My son can eat a whole bag while he's watching TV," said one man. "He's had more of them outside of church than he ever did inside one."

Not everyone likes the trend, of course. "They're not distinguishing between the body of Christ and something you nibble on at home," complained a former Catholic missionary. "We don't respect anything. Nothing is sacred."

But sales are still growing. "They melt in your mouth, and they're not fattening," said one woman. "I'm Catholic. This reminds us of mass." (Toronto Globe and Mail)

Hmm...

What's the last thing you saw being used in some auxiliary way beyond what it was originally intended to be used for?

i don't know if this is using something in the wrong way, but when i see a girl with a low cut shirt on and around her neck is a cross...i don't know, i kind of feel like it's contradictory, ya know? I also had someone in a class that would swear up and down all day, but he always wore this cross. it's just wrong, i think.

Well, I'm in Canada and I hadn't heard about this new snack...but I can tell you that Quebec is the "tip toe around these sensitives pains in the rear" province...so I'm not surprised!

My kids use my colanders and strainers as hats, I guess they wannna be robots or astronauts:)
