never-ending irony

I was watching TV and saw a commercial for the never-ending pasta bowl at Olive Garden that they are running for a limited time.

"Never-ending."

For a "limited time."

Hmm...

Oh, and for the record - I have Italian roots and I've never "taken my Grandpa Luigi to the Olive Garden when he visits me from Italy."

Does your Grandpa really come to visit you from Italy?

That is funny! I haven't been to an Olive Garden in three years...am I missing anything?

Just that every Olive Garden commercial is the most stereotyped ad on TV.

There's always some guy talking like Rocky Balboa, chatting about how everytime someone visits him from the "old country" they go to gather at the Olive Garden. Then they cut to some old guy eating, who says something like "I-like-a-da-meat-a-balls!"

No... I don't have a Grandpa Luigi. I did have one named Mike who actually did come here from Italy, though.

He worked for Wonder Bread.
